Berlin Photo Week 2022

EyeEm by Talenthouse is going to be at the 2022 Berlin Photo Week from Sept 2 - 4th. As part of our ongoing Creative Trends Initiative, we will be doing a  sequence of flash briefs throughout the weekend. They will be 24hrs, so time is of the essence!

Incentives

We will be awarding €425 per day, to the top selected photographers that can upload new content in under 24 hours.

In addition, we will be showcasing the top 30 shortlisted images at our booth during the event!

To help with the process we’ve outlined all four briefs that will go live each day of the event below.

Brief 1 - A World of View

We are looking for photography that represents a point of view through reflection and thoughtfulness. We have been on the inside for some time, which has offered us a new perspective and vantage point and we would like to see it. We are looking for the inner lives, exploring reflections of windows and how reflections can offer insight.

Keywords to Consider:
  • Reflections
  • Outward Looking
  • From the Outside Looking In
  • Windows
  • Through the looking Glass

Brief 2 - Future Technologies

The development of the digital future means the human experience is transcending the boundaries and differences between physical and virtual. We are reimagining the way we exist, trade, play, and live our daily lives. What do we want from these technological futures?

It’s here that science, art, and culture are coming together to shape our perspectives, ideas, and different worlds.

It is also there that the traditional laws of science can be enriched through art, architecture, language and traditional structures - this is what we want to see from this photography mission.

Brief 3 - Patterns & Maximalism

Nature and our world is living on the mindset that we need more, we need to see the whole picture, and that creates moments where maximalism is at play. Maximalism is an aesthetic of excess.

With a focus on all things excess, naturally occurring patterns start to form. We want to see what patterns you see and how much you can see in a photograph.

Keywords to Consider
  • Repetition
  • Naturally occurring Patterns
  • Close Ups

Brief 4 - Artificial Nature

For those who can’t easily access the raw beauty of the outdoors in person – whether due to living in densely populated urban areas, having physical dis- abilities, or simply due to the lack of green areas due to the devastating impact of climate change – life-like simulations bring exposure to nature closer. The perfected, otherworldly imagery and virtual worlds actually offer many of the physiological and psychological benefits associated with the real thing.

Immersing oneself in virtual worlds and land- scapes can even have a more intense effect, with studies showing that experiencing nature in VR transmits “a higher sense of presence” than when someone is shown a 2D photograph of nature or a landscape.
